Before you start marketing your listings, follow these steps to make sure your profile is properly set up in Buildout.
Filling Out Your Profile Information
You can fill out your basic profile information under the very first tab within Profile Settings. To access Profile Settings, click on your name at the top right-hand corner of the page and select "Profile" from the dropdown.
On the Profile tab, you can fill out some of your basic account information, such as:
Login Information
Profile Information
Date/Time Settings
Company Office and Title (permissions pending)
Real Estate Licenses
Social Media URLs
Profile Picture (permissions pending)
Any "Custom Fields" set by your brokerage
Once you have filled out all of the relevant fields, click "Update User" to save any changes.
Writing Your Biography
Next, go to the Biography tab of your Profile Settings, where you can enter relevant information about yourself, including your education, memberships, and professional associations.
Along with your contact details found on the "Profile" tab, your biography, updated in a single location, will appear on your marketing documents, your property website, the broker plugin on your website, and third-party syndication sites.
Once you have finished entering your biography information, click "Save Biography" at the bottom of the page.
Connecting Your Email Provider
If you are going to send branded email blasts from Buildout, you will need to connect your Buildout account to your preferred email provider. To do so:
Navigate to your Profile Settings using the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner
From the Profile Settings page, select the Email tab
Find your email provider, then select Connect Account, or you can Sign Up for a new account with any of our integrated email providers
In order to configure an email provider with an individual Buildout user account, you must have the Can Send Emails permission, and only users with the Can Have Properties permission will see Email in their Profile Settings. If you do not see Email in your Profile Settings, contact your brokerage's administrator.
Note: MailChimp can be connected through an API Key. This key can be generated in your MailChimp account and then connected under the Profile/Email Settings. Please see this article for more information - https://mailchimp.com/help/about-api-keys/.
Connecting Syndication Accounts
Buildout has a built-in Syndication feature, which allows you to share your active listings with third-party listing sites. In order to do so, the primary broker on any listing will need to create an account with the desired listing site and connect it to their Buildout account. To do so:
Navigate to your Profile Settings using the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner
Navigate to the Syndication tab to see all the available channels
Select the channel(s) that you'd like to connect
For more information about the available syndication channels in Buildout, click here.
Note: We have a few auto-syndication channels, which are automatically connected for you. This means you don’t need to manually connect or register for an account, and your eligible on-market listings will automatically sync to those channels.
Selecting Your Notification Preferences
Lastly, the Notifications tab is where you can manually select the types of Buildout activities for which you would like to receive email notifications. Select or unselect your desired preferences and then click "Save changes" at the bottom of the page.
