Using the Advanced Document Editor

How to use the new document editor, released 6/30/26

Feature was released on 6/30/26

Before you start: All document data pulls from your property edit form. The more accurate and complete your edit form is, the better your marketing documents will look.

1. Opening the New Editor

  1. From the Documents tab, click the purple New button and choose New Document.

  2. Click the template you want to work in. You'll be taken into the new editor experience.

2. The Top Bar: Save, Undo, Zoom, and Exiting

The top bar holds the controls you'll use constantly while editing.

  • Zoom — use the zoom control (or a MacBook trackpad pinch) to zoom in and out to a comfortable working size.

  • Auto-save — the green icon confirms your changes are being saved automatically as you work.

  • Undo / Redo — step backward or forward through your changes.

  • Back to listing — jump back to the property edit form to update the underlying data.

  • Done — exit the editor.

  • Three-dot menu → Return to classic editor — switch back to the previous editor experience whenever you like.

  • Page Reset — The page returns to its original template state — removing any text, color, or element changes you made.

3. Settings Tab (Document-Wide Settings)

The Settings tab controls settings that apply to the whole document.

  1. Open the Settings tab in the left-hand panel.

  2. Edit the Document Name (for example, “Milwaukee Brochure”).

  3. If your account has multiple brands, switch between them here to change the branding applied to the document.

Panel controls: Click thumbtack icon (top-right of the panel) to lock the panel so it stays open as you move between pages and tabs. You can also collapse the panel to get it out of the way, then reopen it when needed.

4. Working with Pages

The Pages tab is one of the biggest changes in the new editor. It lists every page in your document (carried over from your document defaults) and lets you reorder, add, hide, and delete pages.

Reorder, hide, or delete pages

  1. Open the Pages tab.

  2. Drag a page up or down to reorder it.

  3. Use the hide or delete icons to hide or remove a page.

Add a page

There are two ways to add a page, depending on whether you want to control its position:

  1. To insert at a specific spot: click Add Page on the menu bar between two existing pages. The new page is inserted right there, and the pages below it shift down.

  2. To add to the end: click the large purple Add Page button. The page is added as the last page, and you can drag it into position later.

The Page Library

When you add a page, the Page Library opens. It shows every page from your document defaults plus any page you or your team has created and saved to the account.

  • Search by keyword to find a page (for example, type “detail”).

  • Select multiple pages at once — you don't have to add them one at a time.

  • Add a blank page (covered in section 6).

  • Upload a PDF document — this option is still available.

To add pages:

  1. Search or browse for the page(s) you want.

  2. Click to select one or more pages.

  3. Click Add to Document. The pages appear at the bottom of your document, ready to review and reorder.

5. Adding Elements with Blocks

The Blocks tab lets you drag core elements onto any page — including templated pages — to add your own content. Available blocks include text, shapes, maps, and images. Buildout plans to add more elements over time.

Add a text box

  1. Open the Blocks tab and drag a Text block onto the page.

  2. Type your message

  3. Use the rich-text controls to change font size, style, underline, and color.

  4. Drag to reposition, resize using the corners, or rotate the box (for example, to read vertically along the side of the page).

  5. Use the Duplicate or Delete options as needed.

Add a shape (and turn it into a CTA button)

  1. Drag the Shape block onto the page. A rectangle appears in the top corner by default.

  2. In Shape Styles, choose a rectangle, circle, star, or pill. The pill shape works well as a call-to-action button.

  3. Drag the shape into place and resize it.

  4. Type button text (for example, “Book Now”) and adjust the text color for readability.

  5. Optionally add a border, adjust transparency, or change the fill color to match your branding.

Add a link to a shape or button

  1. Select the shape or button.

  2. Add a URL

  3. When someone views the document, they can click the button to open that link.

Add and edit a map

  1. Drag the Map block onto the page and resize it with the corner handles.

  2. Adjust the map zoom with the zoom bar.

  3. Choose a map style — including the new parcel map (which outlines tenants/buildings), satellite, retro, or silver.

  4. Optionally add a border and adjust its color and thickness.

  5. Layer other elements on top — for example, drop star icon, a text box, or a tenant logo/icon onto the map.

Add and edit an image

  1. Drag an Image block onto the page, or drag and drop an image file directly from the Images section on the left.

  2. Resize the image with the corner handles.

  3. Use Reposition to crop and reframe the image within its box (for example, to crop out unwanted objects).

  4. Choose Fit or Stretch, add rounded corners, add a border, or add a link.

  5. Layer multiple images or stack images and shapes for more complex layouts.

Swap a templated image: On a template page, drag and drop a new image onto an existing templated image to swap it out. Use Reset Page to restore the original (note this also removes any blocks you added to that page).

6. Adding a Blank Page

  1. Click Add Page and choose New Blank Page.

  2. Choose whether to show or hide the header and footer:

  3. Build the page using Blocks. You can Reset Page at any time to see how it originally looked.

7. Saving a Page to Your Library

If you build a page you'll want to reuse — for example, a property details page with a booking button — you can save it to your library for yourself or your team.

  1. Finish designing the page.

  2. Click the star icon to save it to your library.

  3. Give it a clear name (for example, “Property Details with Tour Button”).

  4. Save it. It now appears in the Page Library for reuse — with all its elements intact — so others don't have to rebuild it.

8. Layers and Locking

The Layers tab shows the elements on a page and their stacking order. It distinguishes between two kinds of elements:

  • Page elements — templated items such as the header and footer. These are static and can't be manipulated because they're part of the template.

  • Added layers — the text, shapes, images, and maps you added, which you can reorder and edit.

Reorder layers

  1. Open the Layers tab.

  2. Drag layers up or down to change which elements sit in front of others.

Lock a layer

Locking is useful if you're a marketing director creating a page for others to use but don't want them changing certain elements.

  1. In the Layers tab, click the lock icon next to a layer.

  2. Save the page to your library.

  3. When another user adds the page, the locked layer stays locked. They must return to Layers and unlock it before they can edit it.

9. Permissions: Custom Layers

A permission called Can Add Custom Layers and Content to Documents controls who can use the drag-and-drop blocks.

  1. Go to Profile Settings → Permissions.

  2. Find Can Add Custom Layers and Content to Documents at the bottom of the list.

  3. Leave it on (the default for all users) so they can add shapes, text, and other elements.

  4. Turn it off for users you want restricted to working within the template only, with no added elements.

10. Switching Back to the Classic Editor

You're welcome to keep using the classic editor while you learn the new one. Nothing in the classic editor changed.

  1. Open the three-dot menu in the top bar.

  2. Choose Return to Classic Editor. You can switch back and forth at any time.
